Q4 2021 Parsity Roadmap

Oct 21, 2024

Written by: Aaron Hayslip | Roadmap

Lately I’ve been inspired by companies who are “building out loud” and “in public”. I truly believe that Parsity is on it’s way to becoming the best path to becoming a software engineer in the world.

For the sake of transparency, I’ve decided that each quarter we’ll publish our internal roadmap which will map out our primary strategic objectives. Here is what we’ll be working on between now and the end of 2021.

Admissions/Marketing

Until now, we have resisted formally promoting our program and even paused launching new cohorts between July and January, not because anything was broken, but because we wanted focus on other initiatives such as a building a network of hiring partners and launching a podcast. We’re now ready to begin actively recruiting the best candidates we can find for students in 2022.

Q4 Admissions/Marketing Objectives

  • Launch a series of January Cohort promotional emails
  • Launch Google Ads
  • Audit the website for SEO
  • Launch an online coding “Community” (The Hacker League?)

Career Development/Career Services

During this last quarter we created an Advisory Board to better help connect grads to companies in other individuals who may be hiring. In Q4 we’ll take steps to connect those members with students during the program.

Q4 Career Development/Career Services Objectives

  • Create a process to have monthly speakers from the Advisory Board
  • Recruit additional Career Services mentor(s)

Operational Capacity

The most important part of our program is the student experience. As we grow, we need to make sure our capacity to serve students and adjust in response to feedback grows as well.

Q4 Operatinal Capacity Objectives

  • Recruit more program mentors
  • Complete outstanding mentor summaries
  • Beef up the support role

Celebrating Wins & Gratitude

With a fully remote program and community, it can be easy to keep going without pausing to say thanks to the many folks make Parsity amazing. Until now, we have not said “thanks”. This will be a priority in Q4.

Q4 Celebrating Wins & Gratitude Objectives

  • Plan a 2022 celebration gathering
  • Find a way to thank mentors in a meaningful way, quarterly

Curriculum

We don’t plan to push new modules or sections to the curriculum during Q4, but we will continue to fix errors and bugs as they’re reported. In Q1 2021, we’ll sort through data from the last 2 cohorts (eval grads, feedback, etc) and feedback from our Advisory Board/Community to plan updates.
